Which brand to buy

Mopping is where these two split. Owners of the Roomba Combo 10 Max, now discontinued, praise its vacuuming and pet-hair pickup but call the mop-washing dock an afterthought, and owners of the iRobot Roomba Combo j9+, also discontinued, and the iRobot Roomba 105 Combo describe pads that drag rather than scrub. Eufy's mops get better marks: the Eufy Omni E28 uses a roller that squeezes dirty water into an onboard tank, and owners of the eufy Robot Vacuum Omni C20 rate its mopping well above what the price suggests.

Vacuuming is iRobot's ground. Owners of the iRobot Roomba Max 705 Vac and iRobot Roomba j9+ single out the dual rubber brushes as the best in the business for pet hair, and shedding-dog households are the happiest owners; both are now discontinued, and iRobot's successor is the Roomba Max 715 Vac + AutoEmpty Dock ($500). The Max 705 was the natural rival to the Eufy X10 Pro Omni, also now discontinued: similar money, but the Eufy also mopped and washed its pads, while the Roomba only vacuums. Owners of the Max 705 complain about app glitches and firmware updates; owners of the X10 Pro Omni find Eufy's app thin on settings.

At the low end, the Roomba 105 Vac brings LiDAR and a self-empty dock but, in owners' reports, struggles badly with pet hair, while the Eufy RoboVac 11S Max ($280) skips the app entirely and keeps running for years. Warranty is 1 year on every iRobot and 1 or 2 years on Eufy, with the Omni S2 at 2.

Get iRobot if the job is vacuuming up pet hair and you don't need a serious mop. Get Eufy if you want mopping included, or a longer warranty at the same price.

iRobot has the stronger reputation here. Owners of the Roomba Max 705 Vac and Roomba j9+ call the dual rubber brushes the best for pet hair, though both are now discontinued in favor of the Roomba Max 715 Vac + AutoEmpty Dock, whereas owners of the Eufy Omni E28 and Omni C20 report long hair wrapping around the brush.
