Dreame started as a motor company. Yu Hao, who studied fluid mechanics at Tsinghua University, set it up in Suzhou in 2017 with backing from Xiaomi among other investors, and its first product was the V9 cordless stick, made with Xiaomi and released in December 2018. A 150,000-rpm digital motor followed in 2020, along with a factory in Suzhou, and a cheaper sub-brand, Mova, arrived in 2023. Robots now make up most of the Dreame models listed here, alongside the Z30, R20 TangleX, R10S and Air sticks and the H-series wet-dry floor washers.

The robots sit in lettered series. The D series is the cheapest way into a full dock, from the D20 Air Plus at $270 to the D30 Ultra at $450. The L series is the volume line, running from the L40s Ultra and L40 Ultra Gen 2 at $570 to the L60 Pro Ultra at $1,400 now that the L10s Ultra is discontinued. The X series carries the flagship hardware, such as the retractable LiDAR and climbing legs on the X50 Ultra at $1,000 and the 3.13-inch X60 Max Ultra Complete at $1,350, and the Matrix10 line, from the Matrix10 Pro at $1,500, is the newest top line. Owners most often pointed to the L40s Ultra, now $570, and the since-discontinued L10s Ultra Gen 2 as the models where the price and the hardware meet. Suffixes matter more than they look: the AE, CE, FE and PE trims of a single robot can carry different sensors.

What owners praise most is the dual-roller brush: L40s Ultra owners with heavy shedders report long hair passing through without wrapping, and the swing-out MopExtend pad on the L10s Ultra Gen 2, X40 Ultra and L20 Ultra gets credit for reaching baseboards that fixed-pad robots miss. The complaints repeat across the range. Owners of the X40 Ultra, X50 Ultra and L10s Ultra Gen 2 describe the Dreame app as busier and buggier than Roborock's and US support as slow, X50 Ultra owners report a battery that drains far faster than the X40 Ultra's, and the camera-less models eat cables. On the sticks, Z30 and R20 owners rate the suction for the money highly but say maximum power empties the battery quickly.

Carpet is the thing to check. L40s Ultra and L10s Ultra Gen 2 owners describe them as strong on hard floors and only adequate on pile, and R20 owners warn carpeted pet homes away from it. Warranty terms on the models listed here range from one to three years, so read the term for the exact model rather than assuming it carries across the brand.
