The Roomba Combo 10 Max and Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone ($1,100) show each brand's habits clearly, though the Combo 10 Max is now discontinued and iRobot's successor is the Roomba Max 875 Combo + AutoWash Dock ($1,200). Owner reports on the Roomba put its vacuuming and pet-hair pickup near the top of the field, but criticize slow mapping and a mop-washing dock that drags the pad over a roller and leaves it wet. The X11's draw is a bagless cyclone dock that ends dust-bag purchases, plus a roller mop with hot-water washing; its owners describe rough navigation out of the box and thresholds above about 23mm stopping it.

Both brands make only robots, so they overlap everywhere except the very bottom. iRobot reaches down to the Roomba Vac Essential at $100 and the iRobot Roomba 105 Combo, which owners call the cheapest credible LiDAR robot from a brand with real US support. The cheapest current Ecovacs is the Deebot T50 Omni at $289, and the Ecovacs Deebot T50 Max Pro Omni at $450 already has a self-emptying, mop-washing dock.

In the middle, iRobot's best-loved trait is its dual rubber brushes, which owners of the iRobot Roomba j9+ and iRobot Roomba Max 705 Vac say do not tangle with pet hair, though both are now discontinued and replaced by the Roomba Max 715 Vac + AutoEmpty Dock ($500); the j9+ does not mop at all. Ecovacs puts more features into similar money, as with the Ecovacs Deebot T50 Max Pro Omni ($450). Both brands draw app complaints from owners, Max 705 Vac owners on glitches and Ecovacs owners on remapping. Ecovacs gives most models 2 years of warranty to iRobot's 1.

Choose iRobot for vacuum-first pet homes or a cheap entry robot. Choose Ecovacs for strong mopping and the most dock automation per dollar.
