Dyson vs Mova

On the numbers, Dyson fields the deeper lineup (26 models), while Dyson has the cheaper entry point at ~$229, while Mova leans harder into mopping (9 mopping machines). The table has the lineup-level numbers; the matchups below put individual models spec sheet to spec sheet.

Which brand to buy

Slow, inconsistent warranty support is the complaint that comes up across several Mova models, from V50 Ultra Complete owners describing canned troubleshooting scripts to P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2 owners shipping units off for repair. Dyson owners have their own recurring gripe, cordless sticks like the V11 Extra failing around the end of the 2-year warranty. Those are the risks you are choosing between, because the products barely compete: Mova makes only robot vacuums and mops, while Dyson's range is mostly sticks and uprights with only a few robots.

Mova's strength is a full self-maintaining dock for less than rivals charge. The Mova P10 Pro Ultra ($499) washes its mops in hot water, dries them, empties itself and carries a 3-year warranty, and owners call its obstacle avoidance unusually good for the price; its weak spot is flattened pet hair on carpet. The Mova V50 Ultra Complete climbs tall door thresholds but avoids clutter below average; it is now discontinued, and Mova's successor is the V70 Ultra Complete ($1,159).

Dyson's case is the hands-on clean a robot cannot do: the Dyson V15 Detect ($830) for laser-lit hard floors and mixed carpet, the Dyson Ball Animal 3 ($490) for pet fur ground into pile, and handhelds for the car.

If you want floors mopped and vacuumed daily without lifting anything, start with Mova. If carpet, stairs and pet hair are the job, start with Dyson.

Dyson vs Mova: common questions

Should I buy a Mova robot or a Dyson stick first?▾

For mostly hard floors and daily upkeep, a Mova such as the P10 Pro Ultra does more of the work for you. For carpet, stairs and upholstery, a Dyson stick or upright cleans deeper than any robot, so buy that first.

Does Dyson make a robot mop like Mova's?▾

It does now, with the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai ($850) and the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV ($1,200), but those are its only robot mops, while every Mova model is a robot that vacuums and mops on its own. Dyson's older wet-cleaning option, the V15s Detect Submarine stick with a mop-only head, is discontinued.
