Samsung vs SwitchBot

On the numbers, Samsung fields the deeper lineup (10 models), while SwitchBot has the cheaper entry point at ~$240, while SwitchBot leans harder into mopping (5 mopping machines). The table has the lineup-level numbers; the matchups below put individual models spec sheet to spec sheet.

Which brand to buy

Every current Samsung robot costs more than SwitchBot's most expensive one. Samsung's only current robot is the Samsung Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI Steam ($1400), which replaced the Samsung Bespoke Jet Bot AI and Samsung Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI+; SwitchBot's run from the SwitchBot K11+ ($240) to the SwitchBot K20+ Pro ($595), with the plumbed-in SwitchBot S10 at $360.

What Samsung charges for is hygiene and avoidance. The Combo models clean mop pads with steam in the dock, and owners of the Combo AI+ rate its camera-based obstacle avoidance highly. The same owners report the reliability problems that follow the line: dropped mop pads, units dying early and a buggy SmartThings app, and on the Combo AI Steam, pads and filters that are hard to buy. The SwitchBot S10 skips obstacle avoidance and focuses on never touching a water tank, while the SwitchBot S20 ($360) brings a camera and hot-water mop washing at a fraction of Samsung's price. Neither the S10 nor the S20 has much ownership history yet.

The one SwitchBot with owner history is the K10+, a mini robot 9.76 inches across that owners in small apartments praise for reaching under furniture and running quietly, though it barely mops; it is now discontinued, replaced by the K11+. Samsung has nothing that size, and its discontinued Samsung Jet Bot+ should not be bought new. Samsung does sell cordless sticks, which SwitchBot does not.

For most robot buyers, the SwitchBot S20 is the better value, with the caveat of little owner evidence. Samsung makes sense only for SmartThings households set on steam-cleaned pads and willing to accept the reliability reports.

Samsung vs SwitchBot: common questions

Is the SwitchBot S20 a good alternative to a Samsung Jet Bot?▾

On features per dollar, yes: the SwitchBot S20 at $360 has a camera, hot-water mop washing and a self-empty dock. Samsung's Combo models add steam pad cleaning and owner-praised obstacle avoidance, but cost $1400 and draw reliability complaints.

Does Samsung or SwitchBot make a robot for very small apartments?▾

SwitchBot does. The SwitchBot K10+ is 9.76 inches across, and owners say it reaches under bedside tables and runs quietly enough for work calls; it is now discontinued, and its successor is the K11+. Samsung's robots are full-size flagships aimed at larger homes.
