Roborock Saros 20

The Saros 20 is Roborock's 2026 flagship, the follow-up to the Saros 10 and 10R, and its headline trick is legitimate: it climbed a 57mm threshold in Vacuum Wars testing — a record — and clears stacked 8.8cm transitions in two steps. Press reviews are strongly positive (Gizmodo called it "jack of all trades, master of most"; Tom's Guide called it a must-have for pet owners), but be aware this is a very new release — Reddit owner threads are still thin, so long-term reliability data mostly doesn't exist yet.

Day to day it's a strong vacuum first: 36,000Pa on paper, 89% embedded-sand pickup on carpet, zero hair tangling, and a 3.13-inch profile that gets under low furniture. Mopping is above average with notably low water use, though PCWorld judged it daily-maintenance mopping rather than deep scrubbing. The RockDock is genuinely full-service — boiling-water pad washing, heated drying, detergent dosing, and it pulls the mop pads off automatically for carpet-only runs — but it's big and heavy, and the app's pile of cleaning modes makes multi-floor setup more confusing than it should be. The one number that lags the class is obstacle avoidance: 17 of 24 in testing, behind the Dreame X60 and Ecovacs T90.

This is for people with thresholds, thick rugs, or split-level layouts that strand other robots, and for pet homes that want zero brush maintenance. At $1,599.99 it sits $100 under the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete and drew far fewer intervention complaints than that machine — Android Authority actually recommended the Saros 20 over the X60. If you don't need the climbing or the boiling-water dock, last year's Saros 10R does most of this for hundreds less, and Roborock also sells a Saros 20 Sonic variant with a vibrating flat mop instead of the spinning pads.
