Worx Vacuums

Worx is the consumer tool brand of Positec, a Suzhou, China company founded in 1994 that launched Worx lawn and garden tools in 2004 and runs its North American business from Charlotte, North Carolina. Its range is mostly trimmers, blowers, chainsaws and robot mowers, all tied together by the 20V PowerShare battery, which also stacks into 40V and higher tools. The Cube Vac (WX030L, $99) is a small boxy handheld built to run on that same pack.

Worx rates its suction pressure at 10 kPa and fits it with a retractable hose that pulls out of the body for vents, car consoles and gaps a rigid nozzle cannot reach, plus a flat suction tool and a soft brush that store on board. The bin empties with one button and the standard filter is washable, with a HEPA filter sold separately as an accessory. Worx's US store backs its tools with a 3-year limited warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Owners like how light it is at about 3 pounds, the one-touch emptying and the hose, and one uses it to clear mini-split condensate drain lines. They are blunt about the limits: suction suited to crumbs and loose debris, a small bin that fills quickly, about 10 minutes on high, and fine dust escaping around the filter because the body is not fully sealed. Buy it as a quick-grab extra for a Worx household, not as the main vacuum, and if fine dust is the reason for buying, look at a sealed machine instead.
